Normanton Utd Win the Cup
On Friday night Normanton Utd and Castlwood Utd contested the Jack Vickers Cup Final, in what was a very clean game with both teams a credit to themselves to say it was a local derby. It was also another great attendance, so good in fact the we ran out of programs! Around 350 were there.
18 Mins- Rob Deakin scrambles the ball over the line after a Mark Pursglove shot from outside the area is dropped by the keeper setting the tone for the evening (1-0)
28 Mins- A bouncing ball in the the area drops over Lee Fottles right shoulder who hit it hard first time, past the keeper into the roof of the goal(2-0)
32 Mins- Jack Shotbol plays a great though ball to Mark Skidmore who calmly slots past the Normanton Keeper to make it game on and 2-1
50-Mins-Richard Lee gets what seems only a half chance on the left side of the area whilst under pressure and with his left foot scores a great goal to put Normanton in control (3-1)
55- A ball played hopfully into the the castlwood area has Adam Sutton trying to head back to his own keeper, however in doing so end up putting it straight past the keeper (4-1)
80- Richard Lee breaks through the defence to calmly slot past the keeper for his second of the night(5-1)
85- With what must be Shaun Hopkinsons first touch of the game after coming on as sub the keeper spills a shot only for Hopkinson to tap in from inchs out. (6-1)
